I think I have a secret passion for cooking because I can’t stop flipping cooking books (I always go and get them books whenever I go to Gramedia), and marking which ones I want to try. And of course, buying all these kitchen gadgets. I’m obsessed.
I was excited to cook for my lunch today. Already had the dish in mind; pasta bake!
Have a meal at home before heading to the meeting at 2pm.
I was going to fry onions and minced beef, boil the pasta, cook the sauce, sprinkle the cheese…etc etc.
I was grinning from ear to ear, thinking about me having lunch on the couch and continue to see my Mission Impossible movie that I haven’t finished watching it for the past 1 week.
I went to the supermarket to get all the ingredients and came back with bags of other things.
I carefully unpacked each bag and put them in their places, unknowingly humming a chirpy song.
I was going to get ready to cook, when suddenly something hit me.
“Ermmm okayyy…. slight problem here….”
“…..I don’t have the tong gas thingy.”
No gas = no fire = no cooked food
I was so disappointed, but I didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry at this epic failure in Basic Life 101.
I couldn’t order the tong gas as the shop closed for today.
But luckily, I ordered dimsum this morning from Chanka Store. I was planning to have it for my makan sahur tonight.
But change of plans today!
Dimsum tasted good and it’s my life safer today!
Tummy is now happy.
